Meet the farmer

I'm Lyndsey Miller, and I'm proud to be a first-generation dairy farmer. My journey at Broken Arrow Farm began with a simple idea: to produce fresh, high-quality milk with integrity.

Everything we do is rooted in our home here in Creston, West Virginia. Our raw milk is a genuine farm-to-table product, crafted with care right on our family farm. We're dedicated to bringing you the freshest milk possible, because we believe you deserve nothing less.

Meet the herd

Get to know the amazing cows that make up Broken Arrow Farm

Dorothy

Dorothy

4 years old
We would like to introduce you to Dorothy, one of the original four members of our Jersey herd. Dorothy was the first Jersey cow on our farm to give birth to a calf and is expecting her third calf in the spring of 2026.
Sophia

Sophia

4 years old
Sophia, another one of the original four calves we brought to the farm. Just a week after Dorothy, Sophia gave birth to her first calf in 2023. She has since become our best milker, and it's hard to imagine our farm without her.
Rose

Rose

4 years old
We'd also love for you to meet Rose, who gave birth to her first calf in the spring of 2025. She had a difficult birth and a tough recovery from milk fever, but she's a fighter. Rose has since recovered and has raised a strong and healthy steer calf.
Blanche

Blanche

4 years old
Last but certainly not least out of the original four, we'd like to introduce you to Blanche. She's a true gem and the prettiest of the herd—and she knows it! Blanche is an excellent milker and is extremely food-driven. She gave birth to her first calf shortly after Rose, and their two calves have been raised together. They are an amazing visual testament to how well calves can thrive on a dairy cow.
Cora

Cora

2 years old
Cora is the sweetest little lady, we brought her to the farm in the summer of 2024. Our demand for milk was growing, and we needed another milker. Cora came from a large dairy, so it took her some time to adjust to the laid-back life here, with plenty of fresh green pasture and an endless supply of treats. She's due to have her second calf—her first with us—in December 2025, and we can't wait to see what kind of mom she is
Shirley

Shirley

2 years old
Shirley is Sophia's first calf. From the day she was born, she's always been a friendly, in-your-pocket kind of heifer. Shirley is due with her first calf in December, around the same time as Cora. We're so excited for her to officially join the milking herd.
Darla

Darla

2 years old
Finally, we have Dalra, Dorothy's first calf. She's an easy going heifer who loves her snacks. We're planning to breed her so she can have her first calf in the fall of 2026, when she'll join the milking herd alongside her best friend, Shirley.

Around the farm

Cows where they're meant to be

At Broken Arrow Farm, we believe that the highest quality raw milk begins with the health of our cows and the land they graze on. Our Jersey cows are pasture-raised, spending their days on lush, green grasses and native forages. This natural, grass-fed diet is not only what cows are meant to eat, but it also directly impacts the milk's superior nutritional profile. Our milk is rich in beneficial CLA and omega-3s, and bursting with healthy, fat-soluble vitamins A, E, and K2. By allowing our cows to live a low-stress, natural life, we ensure they are healthy and happy, which in turn provides you with the purest, most wholesome raw milk possible.

Our milk parlor

Our two-cow milking parlor is a special place that gets the best care for our animals. After every milking, we meticulously clean the parlor to ensure a sanitary environment. Once a month, or more often as needed, we give the entire area a deep pressure wash to keep it pristine, especially when the weather leads to muddy conditions. We believe this dedicated attention to cleanliness is essential for the health and comfort of our cows.

How we cool our milk

When it comes to providing safe raw milk, rapid cooling is key. At our small dairy, we take pride in our quick and effective cooling process, ensuring the freshest milk possible without using a traditional bulk tank. Immediately after milking, we pour the 101.5°F milk directly into glass jugs and submerge them in a sink filled with ice. A water agitator circulates the icy water, ensuring the milk's temperature plummets to a safe 35°F in under 30 minutes. This swift cooling method is a crucial step in preserving the quality and safety of our delicious, raw milk.

Our bottling plant

Welcome to our Bottling Plant, the heart of our operation where milk is transformed from its raw state into the fresh, delicious product you know and love. This isn't just a room; it's a meticulously controlled environment dedicated to purity and quality. Here, our milk undergoes a final, rigorous filtration process before being bottled with precision. To maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, this space is accessible to only two dedicated team members, and we strictly prohibit outside shoes and all animals. This unwavering commitment to hygiene ensures that every bottle we seal is as clean and wholesome as possible, reflecting the care and dedication we pour into our products from farm to bottle.
